Leadership Team




At the heart of Geary Company is Jim McKusick with more than 30 years of experience in the advertising industry. He started working at the agency in 1979 as an account manager and tour coordinator for entertainers. During that time he worked with managers to develop marketing materials for their tours throughout the country. He even worked with Elvis Presley’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, to advertise The King’s music.

Since then his experience has included media strategy and buying, creative direction, client marketing strategies, account management, and orchestration, and the day-to-day business operations of Geary Company. Jim has worked with industries including resort, casino, food & beverage, gaming manufacturing, professional sports, banking, healthcare, professional services, real estate, entertainment, and retail. His community involvement has included work with Nevada Ballet Theater, Nevada Public Radio, the MDA, and Las Vegas Youth Soccer. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications Studies from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Jim has been President, and now CEO, of Geary Company since 1989.



Prior to starting his consulting firm, John served as vice-president and general manager of Cox Media Las Vegas. During his time at Cox, he was responsible for doubling the company’s cash flow in less than five years and leading his team to the number one position in market share. In his leadership roles, John has worked closely with gaming companies such as MGM Mirage and the Venetian in creating promotional partnerships.

John merged his consulting firm with Geary Company in 2009. His firm worked with clients in the automotive, banking, advertising, media, law, and fitness industries. With more than 25 years of experience in advertising and media, John has been involved in every aspect of the business from concept development, creative execution, and media buying to management, leadership, and organizational design. He provides Geary clients with strategies for leadership and management, strategic planning, and competitive analysis in addition to sales, marketing, and advertising strategies.
