Geary Company President and CEO Inducted Into Helldorado Hall of Fame
LAS VEGAS, Nev., June 3, 2016 – Geary Company Managing Partner and CEO Jim McKusick was recently inducted into the Elks Helldorado Hall of Fame at the 2016 Helldorado Wrap-Up Dinner at the Las Vegas Elks Lodge #1468 on West Charleston.
McKusick accepted the plaque from Helldorado chairman and Las Vegas Elks Exalted Ruler JJ Lynch. “This is such an incredible honor,” McKusick said. “The Geary Company has been involved with Helldorado Days for many, many years, going back to the days that my father, Dick Geary, first worked with the Las Vegas Elks back in the 1960s. We look forward to working with the Elks on this great community event for years to come.”
Longtime Helldorado sponsorship chairman and past general chairman Jim Buell was equally enthusiastic about McKusick’s inclusion into the Hall of Fame. “Jim and the Geary Company have been tireless in their work for us in advertising and marketing Helldorado Days,” said Buell. “When then-Mayor Oscar Goodman came to us in advance of Las Vegas’ 100th birthday in 2005, he wanted the Las Vegas Elks and the Las Vegas Centennial Commission to restore Helldorado Days to its original luster. We went to Jim and the Geary Company for their help, and they’ve been an invaluable partner ever since.”
“I had no idea this was going to happen,” McKusick said. “I was completely surprised, and I’m also humbled to join the ranks of those who have seen the importance of preserving and celebrating all that the Elks Helldorado Days bring to Las Vegas.”
Helldorado Days is the longest-running civic event in Las Vegas, dating back to 1934.
